By the end of 2014, Yemenis were weary. The country had fallen into the hands of the Shia rebels, not the outcome many were hoping for. I asked a few parents, teenagers, unemployed and businessmen , what were their hopes and dreams for 2015.
I was humbled by the simplicity in their responses. Mums wanted security for their children going to school. Fathers wanted work and some money to run their families. One student wanted to give up chewing Qat as it consumed him both emotionally and financially.
Despite the dwindling economy, and security fears, I was moved by their immense hope and determination for a better future.
